SBS STORY: ERIKA LEE

Hi! My name is Erika Lee and I am a high school senior. I have been playing lacrosse as

a goalkeeper since my freshman year. Since freshman year, I have been playing for my high

school and various club teams. I am currently dealing with losing my senior lacrosse season.

Before quarantine, I was just getting used to my spring semester routine. I would have five classes at school, go to work after school, then have lacrosse practice. Without lacrosse, I feel like this quarantine is stripping my athletic identity and probably yours too. I was a

student-athlete three months ago and now I am just a student. I cannot put my time and energy into the sport I love, which is extremely upsetting. Unfortunately, my mental health has diminished due to not seeing my friends, teammates, playing lacrosse, and a lack of routine. Three months into quarantine, I have been learning how to take care of myself and my mental health. I have been doing at home workouts to stay in shape and watching Youtube videos as my guide. Additionally, I have been putting my jump rope into use, listening to self help podcasts, and even started practicing the law of attraction. I am trying to optimistic about certain home and life situations and I am glad to share my story. As my first year of college is slowly approaching, I cannot wait to join club lacrosse and to put my stick to good use.
