Everyone always says water is an essential part of our lives, but why?
1. It helps maximize physical performance
Dehydration can have a noticeable effect if you lose as little as 2% of your body’s water content. Thus, drinking lots of water during physical activity is vital as athletes may sweat up to 6 to 10 percent of body weight during physical activity.
You may be more susceptible to the consequences of dehydration!!! Without enough water you can suffer decreased blood pressure or hyperthermia. Extreme dehydration can cause seizures and even death.
2. May help limit and treat headaches
Dehydration can trigger headaches and migraines in some individuals.
"A study in 102 men found that drinking an additional 50.7 ounces (1.5 liters) of water per day resulted in significant improvements on the Migraine-Specific Quality of Life scale, a scoring system for migraine symptoms. Plus, 47% of the men who drank more water reported headache improvement, while only 25% of the men in the control group reported this effect." - Healthline, 2020
3. Can help with weight loss
"Science suggests that water can help with weight loss in a variety of ways. It may suppress your appetite, boost your metabolism, and make exercise easier and more efficient, all of which could contribute to results on the scale."
4. Makes skin healthier
An adequate amount of water in the body makes the skin plump and prevents wrinkles and fine lines.
5. Helps prevent illnesses
Drinking plenty of water eliminates various toxins from the body, hence, preventing illnesses from occurring. Examples of these illnesses are:
hypertension
urinary tract infection (UTI)
